Here are some suggestions:
1. Write a letter of encouragement about the importance of education for 9th grade DPS students who have applied for our scholarship, link, samples
2. Sign up for our email lists, link
3. Support DPS students and help repopulate Detroit by making a contribution to increase our financial incentive. 100% of your donation is used for scholarships - all overhead is paid by sponsors. Your contribution will make a difference. Contributions of all
sizes are helpful, and can be made online (link)
or by calling us at 248/646-3269.
4. Spread the word about our program, and make sure that all DPS students register. They can now apply as early as Kindergarten. To apply online, click on the Student Login button in the upper right hand corner of our website, then click on New Student, then fill in the form and click Save. A paper application is available here. Students must apply by December 1 of their 9th grade year to be eligible for scholarship money, and the earlier they register, the more money they will be eligible for. Students must reside in Detroit and attend DPS continuously from the date of registration through graduation.
5. Adopt a school by participating in its PTA/LSCO, even if your children don't attend that school now. We believe that any school can be improved substantially if just 25 people are actively involved in its PTA/LSCO. Contact us for more information.
6. Spread the word to your friends and colleagues about The Detroit College Promise, by forwarding our newsletters or posting to Facebook, Twitter or other social media.
7. Volunteer to pass out flyers to neighbors, your local organizations or at a community
event, or to work in our office. Click here

8. Register to receive information about the great things with DPS, so you can say good things about DPS. Click here.
9. Host a meeting of your friends / colleagues / group so that we can tell them about
our program.
10. Ask a Public Official to support our program (click here

11. If you are purchasing from Amazon.com, visit Amazon through our website or by clicking here.
12. Shop at Kroger (click here) or Meijer's (click here and use our code, #132628).
13. Download our Goodsearch toolbar, and fund scholarships every time you do a search, link
14. Use the GoodShop link to fund scholarships when you buy online (enter Detroit College Promise as the charity you support), link
15. Contact us to donate items to support DPS seniors in our program who will be attending college. Items include T shirts or other clothing, gift cards, office supplies, electronics, or anything useful to new college students.
16. Organize a fundraiser (dollar drive, bake sale, garage sale, etc.) or a scholarship drive where you work or with your organization. Contact us and we can help you with the planning.
17. Visit our EBay Giving Works page, and learn how to support us by purchasing from sellers who donate part of their proceeds to us, or by becoming one of those sellers (click here).
18. Make a Planned Gift for our Endowment fund to support our scholarship program in perpetuity.
