Seniors, it is time to start working on your FAFSA. Completion of the FAFSA form (www.fafsa.ed.gov) is required to receive money from our scholarship program. It should be completed online by February 28, if possible.  Some colleges award generous grants, but only if the FAFSA is completed on time.  After March 1, less scholarship money is available. Seniors should begin filling out the online form now to take advantage of the maximum amount of scholarship awards. It may take 2-3 hours to complete, and additional time may be needed to get the required documents.  More information about financial aid is available from the Michigan Student Financial Aid Association, http://www.msfaa.org/resources/links.php and Edu-Guide (www.eduguide.org).

A Reminder About What Is Possible If You Work Hard

Students, it is a new year and you may find yourself struggling through some of your classes, or feeling it is impossible to raise your grades. If you need inspiration, check out the letter of encouragement we received from President Obama, (click here) and hopefully it will inspire you to work hard and achieve your dreams!

Detroit College Promise Tip of the Month!

Do I need to Fill out the FASFA?

Yes. Completion of the FAFSA form (www.fafsa.ed.gov) is required to receive money from our scholarship program, because it allows us to stretch our scholarship dollars and help more students.  It should be completed online by February 28, if possible.  The 2011 form is available now online. It may take 2-3 hours to complete, and additional time may be needed to get the required documents so be prepared.
