This is our monthly email providing important information for Detroit Public School students, parents, teachers and staff, and others interested in preparing Detroit students for college. DCP News

 (1) Thank you to The Harold and Marion Gordon Family Foundation, a "Visionary", for their additional very generous contributions to Detroit College Promise.

(2) Thanks to The Robert and Bess Cook Foundation, also a "Visionary", for their additional contribution to Detroit College Promise.

(3) Thanks to Peter and Martha Blom, two of our "Advocates" for their very generous contribution in the form of shares of stock. It is very easy to donate stock to The Detroit College Promise - your broker can do it automatically. Contact Dr. Pernick at 248/646-3269 for details.

(4) Thanks to Michael and Sandy Hermanoff, our newest "Advocates", for their very generous contribution to Detroit College Promise.

(5) Thanks to our "Believers", Mike Pasick and Lora Weingarden, for their recent contribution to Detroit College Promise. Also, Thank you to "Believers", Dr. Joseph Sailors and Dr. Ihab Hosny, for their generous contributions.

(6) The Detroit College Promise is pleased to be partnering with a group of Masters of Social Work students from the University of Michigan to evaluate the effectiveness of the scholarship program, and how it can better serve DPS students. Results should be available in early 2015.

RiseDetroit Challenge Summary 
Thank you to all those that contributed to our RiseDetroit Challenge fundraiser. We raised just over $5,000 online and $9,000 "offline" during the contest time totaling over $14,000 in contributions. We came in 13th place out of 126 charities!
Although this campaign is over, our Annual Drive is just beginning.

Class of 2015-Senior Interest Form 
Seniors, want to know if you're eligible to receive the Detroit College Promise Scholarship? Click here to complete the "Senior Interest Form." Scholarship Detroit to offer Free Scholarship Workshop
When: Friday, November 21st
Time: 4-6:30pm
Place: 2701 Bagley Detroit, MI
Why: If you have an essay that you need reviewed before submitting to colleges or cannot figure out where to apply for a scholarship, come join the free workshop! Free printing and applications are available on site.
