We encourage all K-8 students in DPS to sign up today by visiting, then clicking on Student Login, then New Student sign-up. If you and your family are not a part of DPS, now may be the time to reconsider.

Annual DCP Scholarship Recipient Reception 

2012 Reception
The Detroit College Promise 2013 Scholarship Reception on June 11, 2013 will be at King High School from 7:00-8:30pm. The reception is for all Detroit Public School seniors who have completed their DCP scholarship paperwork.  There will be guest speakers, gift bags and prize drawings.  We encourage students to participate in this event, which honors their achievements.


The Detroit College Promise (DCP), with 27,000 DPS students enrolled, is pleased to announce our first annual "Sponsor-a-Scholar" drive to provide dedicated scholarships to students at DPS high schools of your choice.  If you or your organization would like to sponsor a student(s) at a particular DPS high school, please contact Dr. Pernick at 248.646.3269.



Leaders Who Care 


Save the date In partnership with Horizons-Upward Bound, The Detroit College Promise is offering an exciting opportunity for local youth to interact with leaders from the professions they wish to pursue. The event is free, and will take place at the Cranbrook Keppel Gymnasium on May 4, 2013 from 1:00-5:00 p.m.  To view the flyer click

ScholarshipFor those looking to help defray the cost of a student's education, The Detroit College Promise, in addition to awarding scholarships, keeps a regularly updated list of sites and sources that offer scholarships to Detroit students. You can view this page by visiting the "Detroit Scholarships" page at We have recently added a new site to our list,, which lists a number of scholarships from the State of Michigan, various Michigan colleges and universities, and private institutions.

Kroger Rewards Card Members Must Re-Enroll For Community Rewards

Important! If you have been using your Kroger Rewards Card to support the Detroit College Promise you must re-enroll in April, even if you just signed up in February or March. It's easy to re-enroll, just click here. Once you have logged in, simply click on the "Community Rewards" tab and click "edit".  Type in "Detroit College Promise,"  it will then allow you to select our organization.  If you have never registered your Kroger Card, click here for directions on how to make your shopping dollars work for a good cause!
