Dr. Pernick To Be Given Presidential Award At Cody Rouge Fundraiser For Youth

The Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance (CRCAA) will be awarding Dr. Nat Pernick the Cody Rouge Presidential Award at its inaugural fundraiser themed Cody Rouge: "Youth Leading by Example."  The event takes place on Friday, April 20th at the Burton Manor in Livonia at 6PM. The purpose of the event is to recognize the work that the Detroit College Promise has done, and to promote the Cody Rouge Youth Council Summer Internship Program. The Cody Rouge Youth Council (CRYC) started in 2007, and is a group of youth ages 13-18 that live, work, worship, or attend school in Cody Rouge, and are serious about making a difference in their community. Throughout the course of the summer the youth gain real life experience through holding a job. In addition to the training, each youth is responsible for reporting to an internship opportunity at various partner organizations or local supporting businesses. They also attend special field trips that directly relate to topics of study within the program.

Along with Dr. Nat Pernick, other Cody Rouge special awards recipients include:

Pastor William Harris, Cody Rouge Lifetime Achievement Award, Founder & Senior Pastor of Grace Community Church of Detroit

Meisha Bradley, Cody Rouge Rising Star Award, President of Cody Rouge Youth Council

To purchase tickets click here. To read more about the event click here (PDF). The CRCAA fiduciary is Don Bosco Hall, which is a non-profit charitable organization. Your contribution is tax deductible.
