This is our Bonus Back To School email about The Detroit College Promise. This fall, we will offer scholarships to all Detroit Public School graduates to attend Michigan public colleges and universities, if they live in Detroit and register by December 1, 2010. This scholarship is only offered to students enrolled in DPS.

Welcome Back to School!
We want to welcome everyone back to school! We hope everyone enjoyed their summer and is ready to make this year even better than last!

Enroll in DPS Get a Scholarship Campaign Kicks Off
We issued a Press Release about the expansion of our program to all DPS graduates beginning with the class of 2011. Make sure all your friends, neighbors and relatives in grades 9-12 are registered by December 1, 2010. Registration is online or on paper, and takes only 2 minutes. High school students must register by December 1, 2010, or they cannot receive our scholarship. FYI - we are starting a $2 million fundraising drive to increase the financial incentive / scholarship to $5000 per student, so don't miss out!

Students can register online by following the simple instructions at http://www.detroitcollegepromise.com/FlyerHowToEnroll.pdf or by filling out our one page application at http://www.detroitcollegepromise.com/scholarshipapplication.pdf. We are also registering students in Middle School. For those students, the deadline is December 1 of their 9th grade year.

We've Taken it to the Street!
Look for our billboard on the Lodge Freeway about our "Enroll in DPS - Get a Scholarship" campaign. It is visible going North, on the West (left) side, just south of Henry Ford Hospital / West Grand Blvd. You can see additional photos on our Facebook page.

Lace Up Your Shoes for a Good Cause!
Come support the Detroit College Promise at the Big House, Big Heart run / walk on October 3, 2010. Participants can walk or wheel in a 10K, 5K, or 1 mile race / event. Fully 100% of fundraising dollars raised by the Detroit College Promise team will be used to provide scholarships to Detroit Public School graduates to attend Michigan public colleges and universities. Free Community Fun Fair
Youthville Detroit will host a community fun / health fair on September 11 that includes fitness events and activities, health screenings, information stations and more! Free 30 minute fitness classes will also be held. Healthy pizza, kabobs, smoothies and fruit will also be available!
